The Tie-Down — Dog Car Tether, 2-Pack

Stops your dog wandering across the back seat and climbing into the front while you're driving. Clips to the harness they already wear, and fits either around the headrest posts or straight into the seat belt buckle.

This is a movement restraint. It keeps your dog in one part of the car so they're not in your lap at a roundabout. It is not a crash-tested safety device, we have no crash-test documentation for it, and we won't tell you it will protect your dog in an accident. If you want a certified crash-tested restraint, buy one that has been independently tested and says so.

What it does

• Two ways to fit. Loop it over the headrest posts, or push the metal tongue into the seat belt buckle.
• Bungee section. The elastic middle takes up the slack on braking instead of snapping tight.
• Swivel clip. Turns with the dog so the strap doesn't wind into a knot.
• Reflective stitching. Easier to see when you're clipping them in at night.
• Adjustable length. Slide the buckle to shorten it.
• Two in the pack. One for each car, or one spare.

Important: use with a harness

Clip it to a body harness, never to a collar. A tether attached to a collar puts all the force on your dog's neck.

Returns

60 days, and we pay the return postage. If the stitching or clip looks wrong out of the packet, don't use it. Send us a photo and we'll replace it.

Questions we get

Will it hold a big dog? It restrains normal movement. A determined large dog pulling hard is a different matter, so supervise the first few trips.

Can I use it with the hammock? Yes. Run the tether through the hammock's opening and clip it to the harness.

Front seat or back? Back seat. Dogs shouldn't travel in front of an active airbag.
